Did anyone else blink and wake up it is already April? We say this every year, but it seems like we were counting down the days until opening day just yesterday. Here we are with just one week left for the regular season at Alta Ski Area.

After a sloooow start to winter, February and March delivered close to 200” of Alta’s famed snow. The thing we’ve come to realize is that, yes, snow is important, but the magic of Alta is apparent even when it’s not a record-breaking season. For many of us, the magic of Alta is about whom you share it with, the fresh air, and the beauty of Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Of course, we love when a forecasted 6” storm turns into 18”, when Lake Effect takes over, and we are still skiing first tracks at last chair. We also love ripping groomers on a bluebird day with little kids just getting their ski legs and lunch breaks on the deck with a round of beers. Over the years, we’ve come to appreciate the magic of Alta that arrives as the first snowflake falls and stays long after you are gone.

As the sun begins to set on yet another ski season, we’d like to thank each of you for bringing a piece of Alta magic this season.

From opening day and our holiday guests to those Powder Hounds who were able to catch every storm in February and March thank you for once again spending your time with us.

Don’t worry. It’s not over yet. Alta in April is not to be overlooked. Oldminer’s Weekend returns April 6-8 with a special Oldminer’s dinner at the Top of the Lodge restaurant following Demo Day April 7. The last night for guests at the Lodge is April 14. The Café will open for Alta’s first bonus weekend April 20-22.

Winter, oh winter. Thank you for all the smiles and memories you delivered. Let’s go big these last few weeks.
