OVERVIEW

Alta is Legendary. Alta is our backyard.

Alta, a skier’s mountain and pure, unspoiled skiing are truly synonymous. Respected for its classic powder skiing, challenging terrain and spectacular views, don’t forget that Alta also offers great beginner and intermediate skiing.

Alta receives and average of 547” of the “Greatest Snow on Earth.” The summit elevation reaches 10,550’, a vertical drop of 2,020’ and base elevation of 8,530'. The 2,200 skiable acres includes 25% beginner terrain, 40% intermediate and 35% of the steepest, deepest terrain in America. Lift access, which starts right outside our back door includes two high-speed quads, one high-speed triple, three doubles, one triple and three surface lifts. Snowboarding is not permitted at Alta Ski Resort. Alta may be our backyard, but Snowbird is our next-door neighbor; it is pretty fabulous as well and allows snowboarding. Snowbird receives an average of 500” of the “Greatest Snow on Earth,” with a summit elevation of 11,000’, a vertical drop of 3,240’ and a base elevation of 7,760’ skiers and snowboarders are often able to enjoy this celebrated mountain through June and sometimes even July.
