We never tire of sharing our guests’ stories. At Goldminer’s, repeat guests quickly become like family, and we find that new visitors often return. Over the years, we have had the chance to form special relationships with several of our longtime repeat visitors, and we are excited to feature these guests on our blog and introduce them to our readers.

If you are interested in being featured, please let us know!

Meet Melani: Goldminer’s feels like my home away from home.

When Melani first learned of Goldminer’s Daughter in 2005, it didn’t take her long to fall in love with both Alta and Goldminer’s Daughter.  In fact, she returned three more times the same season! She soon realized she couldn’t bear to be away from this magical place and decided to plant roots in Park City, Utah.  For a few years, she “lived” in Park City yet remained committed to Alta. She has since sold her Park City home but still considers Goldminer’s Daughter to be a second home, spending many nights with us throughout the season.

As soon as it starts to get chilly, Melani begins to follow the snow.  She has been our first guest of the season for the past three years, and we hope the tradition continues.  She describes opening day as momentous and emotional, and she loves being the first guest, as it allows her to meet new employees and help forge a bond right away.

Alta is her personal oasis.

When asked what draws her back to us, Melani shares that she and Alta have a close relationship, and GMD is like a family member whose home she stays at while visiting.  She says, “GMD and Alta go together.  It wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for the both of them combined.  GMD is a place to rest your head and doesn’t pretend to be anything it isn’t.  When you’re here, you don’t have to be anything but yourself.”

Thanks, Melani.  We couldn’t agree more.
