Here Are Some Of Our Favorite Ways Of Getting To

The Goldminer’s Daughter Lodge

The Low-Stress Option:

shuttle services!

Alpine Transportation

Get a private shuttle at a competitive price.

Alpine Transportation vehicles are equipped with four-wheel-drive, snow tires, and an experienced Little Cottonwood Canyon driver.

Alta Shuttle

Alta Shuttle has been safely transporting people to and from Utah’s ski resorts for over 28 years. With both private AND shared shuttles available, choose whichever option works best for your group.

Alta Shuttle also provides vehicles with four-wheel-drive and snow tires to ensure a safe trip no matter what what the weather is doing.

To Get 30% off, book by December 31, 2020 (or until funding runs out) through the “Shop in Utah” grant.

Drive Your Own Vehicle

If you have snow tires and four-wheel-drive, or tire chains, you’re probably ready to tackle Little Cottonwood Canyon.

The Goldminer’s does not charge for parking. However, space can be limited and parking in Alta can be a hassle.

You may need to shovel out a parking space if conditions require (shovels are available to borrow from the front desk).

Be sure to register your vehicle with the GMD front desk and get information about where to park for overnight stays.

Vehicles left in the Alta Ski Area parking lot will be towed at midnight.

You can get more information about the winter driving requirements here.

Large Snowstorms can deposit feet of snow throughout a single day, rapidly changing road conditions (and improving ski conditions).

Rent A Vehicle

Because of rapidly changing road conditions and regulations, we don’t recommend renting a vehicle to get to GMD.

Most rental vehicles don’t have snow tires which are required in Little Cottonwood Canyon from October 1-April 30.

Either a four-wheel-drive, or two-wheel-drive vehicle with chains, are required in Little Cottonwood Canyon when it is snowing.

In short, if you do choose to rent a vehicle for your stay, make sure to get up-to-date information about the requirements and current road conditions here.
