At Goldminer’s Daughter Lodge, we feel strongly about our culture of service. It is a big part of who we are and what we do. Claiming to be customer service oriented is one thing, but walking the walk is a lot harder than talking the talk. But, you see, we do walk the walk or you may say we ski the ski!
If you frequent an airport in a winter destination, such as Salt Lake City International during winter, you often see many a skier schlepping oversized bags filled with skis, boots, poles and other gear along with their regular luggage. It doesn’t look pretty, or easy. In fact, it looks to be quite the hassle. With that said, I know of at least thirty skiers who fly to Utah, get a 45 minute shuttle ride to Alta and never once hassle with packing more than a suitcase.
These avid sportsters don’t rent gear; when they arrive in their rooms at Goldminer’s Daughter Lodge Front Desk Manager Jonathan has a welcome gift waiting. Before they step foot on the property, he has fetched their skis, boots and poles from a private storage room in the lodge and placed them inside the guest’s room. No extra charge, no extra worry and a huge, huge need met for destination travelers who prefer their own skis to rental equipment.
I recently asked Jonathan, “What happens if one of these skiers wants to travel to a different state and lodge, but their gear is being stored at your lodge?” With his ever present smile he quickly answered, “I arrange all of the shipping and handling of such requests with a credit card transaction and phone call with that guest.” Pretty easy-peezy for the avid GMD skier and all they have to pay for is the shipping.
We believe that it is the little things that make the difference. Our job is to make your stay a pleasure, and we take that job very seriously. Your job, while visiting us, is to kick back and relax after a long day on the slopes.
